Film Studies 4-11: Ex Machina

When Caleb wins a lottery draw at work, he gets to meet the company’s eccentric yet reclusive owner. Soon he learns that Nathan has been working on creating artificial intelligence in the form of Ava. Caleb’s job is to put Ava through the Turing Test to see if she could pass a real human. But soon things seem to change and it’s a matter of who testing who? Is this a hard look at human condition or just another in a long line of A.I. movies that misses the mark?
