It’s the mid-90s. Rap hasn’t yet given way to hip hop, basketball is America’s favourite sport du jour, and Max finds a boombox (portable stereo) that contains a magic genie. The genie, named Kazaam, gives Max three(ish) wishes and multiple storylines to fill this movie up with. Movie also features a good single mother, a maligned possible step-father, an evil club promoter, a poor father, a sexy information gatherer, and a group of bullies.
